About Us
Max's at Red Hill Estate enjoys iconic status as the first winery restaurant on the Peninsula. When the restaurant was established, there were no freeways to the area and it was a long two hour drive from Melbourne. "People thought I was crazy and that it would never work", says Max. Almost two decades on and surrounded by numerous other winery restaurants, Max is seen as a pioneer of the dining scene on the Peninsula.
Menu
Max's offers a seasonally changing menu with a focus on local sustainable produce. Our menu may feature mussels from Flinders, cheese from Red Hill, berries from Main Ridge, organic vegetables from Baxter, honey from Moorooduc and more.
Supporting our local producers makes sense. We are not only benefiting the local community economy and reducing food miles, we are ensuring we provide the best quality, freshest produce to you, our customer.

Wine List
Being located at Red Hill Estate, these wines have a high emphasis on our list. Along with these, we have also selected a small range of fine wines from other Australian wine regions.
We feature beers from Red Hill and Mornington, cider and apple juice from Red Hill and Victorian organic soft drinks.
Weddings
Nestled in the vineyard with stunning views across Western Port Bay to Phillip Island, Max’s at Red Hill Estate is the ideal setting for your Wedding Day
The grounds of Red Hill Estate are appealing by day or night with the breathtaking outlook by day, and the pathways aglow by night while tiny lights flicker across the bay on Phillip Island.
Groups & Corporate
Max's welcomes groups, large and small.
Whether a family gathering, social group or corporate event, we have packages tailored to your needs.
A lunch or dinner at Max's can be preceded by wine tasting in the cellar door, with canapés and drinks on the terrace following as you soak up the stunning view. Enjoy a three course meal in the restaurant, matched to estate wines as you are attended by our friendly and experienced staff.
Events
Max's runs a series of events throughout the year. Our Italian themed evenings take Max back to his heritage, cooking the recipes he picks up conducting tours through Italy. Our annual Burning of the Canes evening celebrates the change of season on the vineyard with a bonfire of vine prunings. Max's Melbourne Cup Day Extravaganza is a family fun day raising funds for local charity, Riding for the Disabled.
