Join Max and discover Italy!
You need to tour with Max!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to visit a foreign country with an insider? Someone who knows the best restaurants, the best places to visit, the best places to stay…..and then organises it all for you? You need to tour with Max!
Max Paganoni is the owner, director and executive chef of Max’s Restaurant, which he opened in 1994 as the first winery restaurant on the Mornington Peninsula. Max was born of Italian heritage and raised on the Peninsula and has a keen interest in Italy and all things Italian.
Max has been taking groups all over Italy for over 10 years. Each year Max takes a small group tour of up to 12 people through various regions of this wonderfully diverse country. Many participants have made lifelong friends on these tours and have done more than one!
The tours do have a culinary focus and often include cooking classes, winery visits and exploration of local produce, but they are more than that too. You will gain a real feel for the area, meeting the locals, visiting small villages and historic towns and learning about the region and its culture and history.
Tour with Max and see Italy like a local.

Sardinia 2017
Participants on our latest tour to Sardinia in September 2017 were treated to a leisurely exploration of the island’s food, wine, cooking and culture over twelve gloriously sunny days. Staying in luxury accommodation throughout the trip, the group relaxed on the mountain tops, cooked with nonnas, learned traditional Sard recipes and tasted the regional wines. A boat trip took them to a stunning magical cave, they wandered historic landmarks and still had time for a spot of retail therapy. Over the course of the tour lasting friendships were made and fun was had by all.
